Measuring of parameters dimmable LED sources
Kubeša, Radek ; Štěpánek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the dimmable LED light sources. The theoretical part at the beginning is devoted to the light and the basic photometric quantities, analyzes the light sources and their parametres. It also describes the operating principle of LEDs, construction, power, and control the brightness of LED light sources. The practical part is focused on the measurement and evaluation of operating parameters selected samples of LED light sources.
Monitoring Service Properties of an IPFIX Collector
Kala, Jan ; Žádník, Martin (referee) ; Wrona, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis addresses possible ways of monitoring IPFIX collector, which is used for the collection of metadata about network traffic. The thesis briefly introduces the pro- blematics of monitoring and describes the current state of IPFIX collector, which is being developed by an organization called CESNET. It also describes service properties, which can be monitored during the process of data collection using the IPFIX protocol. A new plugin is described, which is intended for the collection and the export of service properties. The thesis describes an implementation and contains results of testing of the new plugin.
Optimization of the Colutron Ion Source
Horký, Michal ; Mach, Jindřich (referee) ; Voborný, Stanislav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis concerns with design and assembly of Colutron ion source which produces beam of nitrogen ions with energy from tens to thousand eV. Production of ions and the principle of Colutron ion source is described in the first part. The second part of the thesis is related to the modification and assembly of commercial Colutron ion source. Finally the parameters of the ion beam have been measured for different extraction electrodes and operating parameters in testing apparatus.
Light sources in extreme operational conditions
Martiš, Jan ; Krbal, Michal (referee) ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor)
The purpose of this work is to inform about how various external influences can affect the operational characteristics of light sources. In the first part of the work, the light sources are categorized based on their principle of operation and the basic parameters and properties of different light source types are listed. Then the individual influences (voltage changes, temperature, operational position) and their possible effect on the operational characteristics of different types of light sources are analysed. Further, possible procedures for measuring light sources under altered conditions are mentioned and the results of practical measurements on selected light sources are presented. The last part of the work deals with ways to decrease the influence of altered operating conditions on the operation of light sources.
Optimization of hydrostatic bearing pad geometry using CFD simulation
Dryml, Tomáš ; Vimmr, Jan (referee) ; Michalec, Michal (advisor)
The master's thesis deals with the optimization of hydrostatic bearing pad geometry using CFD simulation and experimental measurements. By combining experimental and numerical approaches, the effect of variation of hydrostatic bearing recess shape and depth on individual operating parameters is investigated. The effect of geometry variations is determined by numerical simulations which have been validated with experimentally obtained data. The results show that the ideal recess depth should correspond to 20-50 times the lubrication layer height The simulations also show that depth variation has a significant effect on the operating parameters. In contrast, the variation of the recess shape does not significantly affect the operating parameters of the bearing. The design of the optimum geometry of the hydrostatic bearing is particularly important because it can bring significant financial and energy savings associated with the operation of (especially large-sized) hydrostatic bearings.
